ThisWeek.AI (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the ThisWeek.AI mobile application and associated services (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

Account Information

Device Information

We collect device identifiers and push notification tokens to deliver notifications you have opted into.

Approximate Location

We infer your approximate city, region, and country from network request information such as IP address data. We use this only to derive approximate location for personalization, analytics, and operational reporting. We do not request or collect precise GPS location from your device, and we do not store raw IP addresses in your user profile.

Content Preferences

We store your content preferences, saved articles, and reading history to personalize your experience.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
• Personalize your news feed and content recommendations
• Tailor content and regional insights using approximate location signals
• Send push notifications for new content and weekly digests
• Generate and deliver AI-narrated audio summaries
• Analyze usage trends to improve the Service

ThisWeek.AI uses artificial intelligence to curate, summarize, and narrate news content. AI-generated summaries and audio are derived from publicly available sources. We do not use your personal data to train AI models. Your reading preferences are used solely to personalize content delivery within the Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Third-party vendors who assist with hosting, analytics, push notifications, authentication, and approximate location enrichment (e.g., Supabase, Apple Push Notification Service, IP-based geolocation providers).
• Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ThisWeek.AI, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Usage data is retained in aggregated, anonymized form for analytics purposes. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
